I retired from a rewarding career teaching in the primary grades. I like to say not retired, but reinvented. I continue to attend and present workshops and even organize conferences with my colleague Dar Hosta and Teaching Out Of The Box. Every once in a while you’ll find me back in the classroom subbing or helping out when I need a kid fix.
When I’m not in the classroom or working as an educational consultant, I’m either dabbling in some art project, taking photographs, hiking the hills around my home in the woods, or a doing a combination of these activities.
I first and foremost have to thank my mom, Barbara Joan Thurnall Timmerman, who taught me many lessons and gave me the gift of realizing the importance of making the most of each and every day. She made me realize that the time to follow my passion was now. It could and should not wait. That I should follow my heart, find my passion and not be afraid do what I love. She inspires me every day!
(Gotta love this photo… I certainly don’t look in the mood to listen to anything my mom had to say or have the courage to try anything!)
